Verizon Outage Update:
As of our 2PM update from our partners at Verizon, work continues on this repair. There currently is NO RESTORATION TIME available at this time.

We are aware of the Verizon cell service outage in the Kent area. This is due to a transmission line issue. The problem is being addressed and working on a repair currently.
Please try to use internet based wi-fi calling in an emergency.
Some customers may experience discolored water. You may want to use stored water for drinking and cooking, and delay clothes washing until water is clear. Run your cold water faucet until the water appears clear, prior to resuming use for these purposes.
Aquarion Fire Flow Testing Tonight- August 8th 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm
This routine maintenance ensures that the fire hydrants are operational and the water mains are clear of debris in the event of a fire where they are needed to fight the fire.
Eversource has several crews throughout town working on restoration efforts with concentration on Macedonia and Kent Hollow areas. The damage in Macedonia was more severe then anticipated so estimated restoration time has been pushed back to 4PM.

We are aware of the ongoing power outage in areas of town. Eversource is working on the situation. The estimated power restoration time for the Macedonia Road area is 12 Noon.
Storm Update:
Very minor damage in town from the storm. 8:30 AM Kent Highway crews are working to clear a tree on Skiff Mountain Road past Marvelwood School.
Eversource is enroute to the area of 315 South Kent Road for a tree on the wires.
Another round of storms Friday… The incoming storm will produce an initial period of moderate/wet snow Friday evening with minor wet snow accumulations before transitioning to rain. With 1 - 1.5 inches of rain expected in Litchfield County renewed river flooding is possible.
The following roads ar closed this morning:
-Kent Hollow between Anderson Acres and Beardsley
-Camps Flat between Geer Mt. and Mud Pond
-Schaghticoke
all closed due to flooding
-South Kent Rd. from Bulls Bridge to the Town line closed for wires down.
Find alternate routes.
Power Outage Update:
Line crews are currently working to restore power in the Kent Road and Bulls Bridge Road area. Estimated restoration times have not been provided but crews are working to get this resolved.
8:20 AM Monday - Kent Highway staff is out checking town roads for debris and downed wires. At this time there does not appear to be any closed or blocked roads. There is some small sticks and wind driven debris, so please use caution while driving.
Updates if conditions change
Rain will continue to fall this afternoon into the evening and tomorrow. There is the potential for up to 3 inches and even the possibility of up to 5 inches depending on the storm track. Winds will intensify over night and we could see gusts of 30 to 40 MPH.
