This afternoon, the choir were invited to sing at a coffee afternoon at Kenton Library. The children sang carols from our nativity, and really enjoyed their first performance as an ensemble. It was so lovely to perform for members of the public and family. @ToonLibraries
We were very excited and honoured to be visited by @ChiOnwurah MP for Newcastle Central this morning. Chi joined us for our final performance of our school nativity. She was blown away by the performance and enjoyed spending time chatting with the children afterwards.
Wonderful Nativity concert @KentonBarPri really got me in the Christmas spirit. Fantastic musical and dramatic performance from pupils of all ages and of course a lot of hard work from the teaching staff.
If your child is new to school, or your circumstances have changed and you think you now may be entitled to pupil premium funding, please apply as soon as possible, ideally by 22nd September 2023.

We hope you're all having a great summer holiday.
A reminder that we will be closed for a whole staff training day on Monday 4th September with school starting on Tuesday 5th September.
Enjoy the rest of the holidays and we're looking forward to seeing you all soon.
Year 2 have had an exciting visit from @holly_sterling. She read us one of her favourite books, #KarateKids and taught us how she draws the characters for her stories. She was very impressed with the illustrations we produced. #welovetoread
This morning we have had our whole school assembly on World Refugee Day which, designated by @UN, is tomorrow. Everyone is welcome at our school. There are #NoOutsiders at our school.

For our #NoOutsiders lesson, we have read the book ‘Leaf’ which challenges the idea of prejudice. The children sketched out the images of the animals in the story and picked out their differences to highlight that despite this, they all work and live together.
We are excited to share our findings with the @highwaysagency and look forward to seeing improvements in our local area so that more of us can #walksafelytoschool
Along with @livingstreets we have identified hazards in the area around school that make #walkingsafely a challenge. We've seen faded road markings, poor lighting, narrow and overgrown paths, damaged pavements and the lack of pedestrian crossing facilities.
Some of our Year 5 children have been training this week to become ‘Playground Leaders.’ They had to apply for the role and are going to oversee and lead new games and make sure everybody has someone to play with. We can’t wait to see them in action soon! #leaders#rolemodels
We have had a great morning so far celebrating the #Coronation of King Charles III and are looking forward to parents and carers joining us this afternoon.
Year 2 had a great time visiting @alnwickcastle in #northumberland for our project 'Magnificent Monarchs’. We learned about Harry Hotspur and agreed he is hero! We were able to explore the grounds and take on the Dragon Quest... it was a bit scary, but everyone was super brave.
