#751Children - this is Canada.
They were never schools.
This was and remains a crime scene of Genocide.
My heart & spirit are with my relations.
If you or someone you know needs support, call the National Indian Residential School Crisis Hotline at 1-866-925-4419.
We are so excited to be partnered with Dr. Dayna Scott on this grant. Together with community leaders, scholars and students we will investigate infrastructure beyond extractivism through on-the-ground assertions of Indigenous jurisdiction. Congrats to the whole team!
The news of the Muslim family killed in London Ontario today is gutting. There is a mental health support line for Muslim youth @NaseehaHelpline. You can connect with confidential support 7 days a week from 12PM – 12AM EST. 1-866-NASEEHA (627-3342). https://t.co/nQ5erQfToD
This is 2021 in Canada.
This is our #EdmontonGriesbach MP.
This is real life for us. Racism is real.
We need reps who will call out racism & white supremacy - Not “love it”.
This is why I am running to be your next MP.
Hiy-Hiy @allenjdustin for standing up ✊🏽🧡

@burek75@mikaila_km@NicoleChaland@GraceALore@Laurel_BC Hey folks! One thing off the top of my head is the “philidelphia model”, a model for the review of formal reports. I know it’s been adopted under a different name in Manitoba, but it started at the municipal level in philly.
Congratulations to @DesjarlaisBlake who is officially running in Edmonton Griesbach.
Blake is a grassroots organizer with deep roots in his community and we’re excited that he’s running to fight for you!
@Paola_A_Ardiles @SFUDialogue@Karineduhamel1 Looking so forward to continuing these conversations! Thank you for you hopefulness and openness today ✊🏻💕
🙏 @KenyaDigIt94 for sharing your story and for your great insights into #traumainformed trauma informed approaches to post-secondary sexualized violence policies and practice. You have added great value to today's @SFUDialogue Welch Community Dialogue event💛
Here’s a thought: the next time a male teacher or teaching assistant claims to be uncomfortable by what a student wears, send HIM home. #kamloops#dresscode#bcpoli
RE: policies that sent a student home student in #kamloops for what she was wearing...these kinds of “regulations” are endemic of #rapeculture and highly gendered. Instead of debating what was worn, let’s talk about sexualization, victim blaming and lack of accountability.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS: We are excited to announce our first #annual#Indigenous graduate student #conference on April 6/7. Submissions are open until Feb. 26th, and our inaugural theme is “The Resilience of Indigenous Nationhood”. Please share! #SAGE
