Accredited to the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region ( ICGLR)

Ce samedi 25 juillet 2026, S.E l'Ambassadeur Édouard BIZIMANA, Ministre des Affaires Étrangères, de l'Intégration Régionale et de la Coopération au Développement de la République du @Burundi, a reçu en audience S.E l'Ambassadeur Henry Wambuma, Ambassadeur extraordinaire et plénipotentiaire de la République du @Kenya auprès de la République du Burundi.

Les deux personnalités ont échangé sur plusieurs sujets d'intérêt commun visant à renforcer les excellentes relations de coopération entre le @Burundi et le Kenya, notamment :
-l'état de mise en œuvre des accords et mémorandums d'entente signés lors de la dernière Commission mixte de coopération tenue à Nairobi en avril 2025 ;
-la situation réciproque des ressortissants burundais vivant au Kenya et des ressortissants kenyans résidant au Burundi;
-la prochaine célébration de la Mazingira Day, prévue le 10 octobre de chaque année en République du Kenya, une journée dédiée à la protection de l'environnement et à la promotion des actions en faveur de la lutte contre le changement climatique.

À l'issue de ces échanges,le Ministre Édouard BIZIMANA a pris bonne note des différentes préoccupations soulevées et a réaffirmé son engagement à assurer un suivi approprié, en étroite concertation avec les services compétents.

Today in Bujumbura, Amb. João Samuel Caholo officially handed over the Office of the Executive Secretary to Dr. Mubita Luwabelwa, appointed at the 9th ICGLR Summit.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the DRC Minister of Regional Integration, H.E. Floribert ANZULUNI ISILOKETSHI, and the Burundi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Development Cooperation H.E. Amb. Edouard Bizimana -a renewed commitment to peace, security, governance & regional integration in the Great Lakes Region.
