Fight Inequality Alliance Kenya is calling for: - A transparent investigation into the expired stock and related losses - Accountability for all responsible officials and institutions
- Improved coordination and medicine distribution to public health facilities
KSh914 million worth of essential medicines expiring in storage points to serious failures in Kenya’s public healthcare system.
Public healthcare resources are too critical to be lost through preventable failures.

Debt takes the first bite of every budget. Billions are paid off in debt before schools, hospitals, or counties see a cent. And to make it worse, the funds often arrive late in the financial year, partial disbursements, delayed procurement, and by then, the chance to use the money on time is gone. So, even though billions are on paper, low absorption is a result of late disbursements combined with debt eating the first slice. Where’s the real balance for wananchi?
2026/27 budget and the Finance Bill 2026 officially closes today at 5:00 PM, this is our final window to speak up. Make sure to submit your views and memoranda to Parliament before the end of the day.

Households are spending more just to move, while less income remains for food, rent, healthcare, and education as transport costs ripple through the economy.
FIA Kenya calls for urgent action to lower transport costs and stabilise living standards: cut fuel taxes, stabilise public transport fares, end opaque oil procurement, audit fuel pricing systems, and prioritize social spending over debt repayment. #Wethe99 #UsawaKenya
Kenya’s political system remains heavily influenced by money, making it difficult for ordinary citizens especially youth and women to compete fairly. While young people and women are increasingly politically aware and active, financial barriers continue to limit their transition from participation to leadership.

Parts of the country are watching the water rise again.
Tumekua hapa before. Floods bring disease, and when people need care, they will have to navigate public health facilities that are overwhelmed and underfunded to serve them properly.
This cycle repeats every season with no meaningful change in between. When the water recedes, the conversation stops.
We cannot keep arriving at the same crisis with the same underprepared system. The flooding is predictable but the failure to act on it is a choice.
Fix the public health system and fund it fully. Now.
