Kenya’s public debt increased by Ksh1.93 trillion ($13.3 billion) to Ksh11.14 trillion ($76.6 billion) last year from the Ksh9.2 trillion ($63.2 billion) in 2022.

The total debt service amounts stand at 58.8 percent of revenues, leaving only 41.2 percent of tax revenue to finance government development programmes. #EurobondKenya @MwanzoTv @MariaSTsehai

Kenya still faces a significant risk of debt distress despite a Ksh218.53 billion ($1.5 billion) new Eurobond issue that helped to calm foreign investor jitters over the possibility of the country defaulting on the repayment of its debut $2 billion (Ksh291.38billion) Eurobond that is maturing in June. #EurobondKenya @MwanzoTv @MariaSTsehai

Yields on the 10-year Eurobond maturing in 2028, the 12-year bond maturing in 2032 and the 13-year bond maturing in 2034 have similarly fallen to 9.475%, 9.939% and 9.749% respectively #EurobondKenya

On 12 February, Kenya tapped the international bond market to raise cash and buy back a 10-year Eurobond of USD 2 billion that matures in June this year. The USD 1.5 bipllion bond, which will mature in 2031, was oversubscribed four times. #EurobondKenya @MwanzoTv

I love the conversation on #WomenAgainstTerrorism this morning as we mark the International Women's Day. Truth is women are mothers, sisters, wives to some of the most notorious terrorists. Some are terrorists themselves. And they know how to keep secrets.

According to @UN, women represent between 10% and 15% of a terrorist group membership. Of late, Al-Shabaab has been increasingly recruiting more women than men. They are using religion to lure more women because they are "easily convinced" #WomenAgainstTerrorism

Al-Shabaab group is said to have trained at least 1,500 women to be "terror prides." Their mission is to carry weapons across the border into Kenya using donkeys and within their buibuis. On this day, we say it is time for #WomenAgainstTerrorism
