Staying in the field of education right now takes strength, and so does leaving.
We need to continue to support our educators. They aren’t superheroes. They are humans who should be acknowledged for how hard this is and how amazing they’re doing.
@jacasiegel My dad is 80, retired, etc and just doesn’t need a lot of things. So I do experience gifts. Things we can do together that he will enjoy. A concert, a show, a movie, we saw Jerry Seinfeld’s stand up show for this Christmas.
If you regularly walk around the school, and regularly check in with teachers in their classrooms, and regularly check in with pupils in their classrooms, and regularly just have a presence around the school, there's no need for formal learning walks.
@m_chiles I literally had a teacher break into a conversation about ELL students struggling in math with “well I’ve never had my ELL students struggle in math, they just don’t, so I don’t really know why this is happening for you”. I was livid. Now she is an ELL support teacher. 😩
Two rockers visited the @FisherFlamingo 2nd graders to motivate them to be Ready to Rock iReady! Ss will be working hard to appear on the Wall of Fame and work towards a donut party!
@teacher2teacher This is not a supportive math strategy. “Key terms” are interchangeable and students can use any operation to solve. As long as they can visualize the math story, they can determine the operation and strategy for finding a solution. Info out there says this is not good.
“Being a teacher means being asked to do the impossible year after year. But we show up every day and do our best.” Amen Ms. Howard, Amen https://t.co/f6Yu3NmNvd

@techteacherfran @RVAITRTs I try to do schedule send as much as possible. I don’t want others to feel I expect them to be at the ready 24/7, nor do I want others to think I am (even if I do de use to do some work or respond to email after hours). Sometimes you just have to say no to reading after hours too
