Dolly Parton’s touching final message to children is going viral following her death at 80.

The note is included with the last book children receive from her Imagination Library when they turn five, encouraging them to keep reading, dream big, learn everything they can and care for those who care for them.

Dolly founded the program in 1995 after being inspired by her father, who could not read or write. What started with 1,760 books for children in her Tennessee hometown grew into a global literacy program that has gifted more than 300 million books.

Now, as fans mourn the country music icon, her words to generations of young readers are taking on a powerful new meaning.
