🚨BREAKING: Utah Supreme Court Justice Diana Hagen has suddenly resigned.
Hagen was one of the justices who voted to throw out Utah’s congressional map and create a new Democrat-leaning seat through redistricting.
Her resignation comes after explosive allegations that she had an affair with a lawyer directly involved in the redistricting case.
@axlegrurt@WeFlyHigh48@CaliforniaBruin@5Solas2 This is the problem with sola scriptura.
Feeding spiritual pride through the cherry-picking of scriptures and deciding how you want to use one of them in the moment.
You’re intentionally missing the point.
You’re intentionally pretending to debate the topic by addressing things no one said, no one implied and no one believes.
You are intentionally misunderstanding everything that was presented to you. You’re prideful.
That’s typically how leftists, atheists, and agnostics debate - by pretending they don’t understand anything therefore making any meaningful discourse impossible.
The challenge is cute. 🤭
Ok, you asked. 🤷🏻♀️
Start here: God is not your buddy in a hoodie.
Hebrews 12:28-29 says we are to “serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” Not “serve God acceptably with whatever fits the vibe and doesn’t require ironing.”
The same God who struck a dude dead for casually touching the ark (2 Samuel 6) and killed Nadab and Abihu for offering “strange fire” (Leviticus 10) did not suddenly become indifferent to how His people approach Him once the New Testament started.
Reverence is not optional decoration.
Jesus HIMSELF cleansed the temple because people turned His Father’s house into a casual marketplace (John 2:13-17; Matthew 21:12-13). The issue was not the building’s architecture, but in it holy things were treated as common.
A “church” whose primary visual language is “a concert hall w/ folding chairs” while the pastor dresses like he’s about to mow the lawn in his New Balance sneakers, or some self-absorbed rando “pastor” on a screen interpreting scripture for you following a music concert (hello, https://t.co/Q2MBbnTYFa) communicates the OPPOSITE of “holy ground.” You can call that cultural preference all day, but scripture calls treating the holy as ordinary, a problem.
Early Christians met in homes. I concede that, but they also did not design their gatherings around maximizing comfort, minimizing formality, and treating the preaching of the Word like a TED Talk with better lighting.
The standard was whether the assembly reflected the holiness of the God they claimed to worship.
In your churches, it doesn’t. You’re lazy.
If the only rebuttal is “the Bible doesn’t explicitly ban jeans,” congratulations on the lowest possible bar.
Same tired gotcha. 🥱 Genesis 1 is the broad cosmic overview. Genesis 2 zooms in on the creation of man, the garden, and the woman…it elaborates on day 6, it doesn’t restart or override the sequence. Different focus, not a competing timeline.
The animals and plants aren’t presented as “created after man” in a way that contradicts chapter 1; it’s narrative emphasis around the central figure. Complementary accounts, not a contradiction.
This has been addressed for centuries by people who actually read the text as literature instead of a gotcha list. 🤫
“You guys skipped over Christ’s earthly ministry in Sunday school.” 🥴
The fact that you think this is a dunk tells me your entire knowledge of Catholicism comes from a 30 sec anti-Catholic TikTok. Catholics don’t skip Christ’s earthly ministry…it’s the center of the entire liturgical year. The Gospels are read cover-to-cover at Mass over a three-year cycle, and the Church has spent 2,000 years defending, teaching, and living exactly what He said and did. The Mass itself is the continuation of the Last Supper and the Cross, not some later invention.
Meanwhile, you’re out here treating the New Testament like it dropped from the sky in 1517 with no Church, no bishops, and no Tradition behind it. 😂😂
Christ founded a Church with authority (Matt 16, Matt 18, John 20), He taught people to listen to it, and the apostles and early Fathers did exactly that. Your “Bible alone” position is the actual thing that skips huge portions of what Christ and the apostles taught. But go off, king.
@axlegrurt@CaliforniaBruin@5Solas2 Your barren warehouse “worship” with a guy in jeans and a projector is the actual mockery of the King of Glory. The Church has offered Him the best it has for 2,000 years while you sneer from the bleachers of a 500-year-old reaction. Sit down.
