No one can survive on a R370 grant, but it continues to make a difference. Minister Godongwana and President Cyril Ramaphosa, so many families across Mzansi will have no food during Christmas. Prioritise grants and fix the R350, increase it beyond March 2025 and turn it into a Basic Income Grant (BIG)

Tax the rich—Introduce a net wealth tax and increase the tax on those earning more than R1 million. Spread some Christmas joy and give pensioners a 13th cheque, which they have asked for time and time again. Increase tax on sugary drinks, tobacco, e-cigarettes, and alcohol.

[Premier Panyaza @Lesufi's Christmas Wishlist] In 2024, together, we presented our different campaign demands to Parliamentary Committees. One of the presentations was at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature, where we called on them to ensure that the Gauteng Department of Social Development releases payments for all NPOs, to also answer the Gauteng Youth Brigades on the Nasi Spani program and other campaign demands.

In 2025, we will continue to engage with relevant committees to push progressive policies forward.
