For #StandingStoneSunday, an absolute classic, Avebury Neolithic Henge ! It is thought to have been constructed over several hundred years during the Neolithic period, and is comprised of a large henge, with an outer stone circle with two smaller circles inside.

For #FindsFriday, the Tarrant Valley Lunula, the only lunula to be found in Dorset, which dates from around 2200-1950 BCE. They were first produced in Ireland by beating a single gold ingot into a thin foil and are very rare in mainland Britain. On display @DorsetMuseum.

On display @AshmoleanMuseum, this absolutely gorgeous golden acorn necklace, from 500-400 BCE. It was found in a Scythian grave, and consisting of gold rosettes, stylised lotuses and acorns, it remains a striking example of a mixture of Scythian art and Greek luxury styles

For #ReliefWednesday, a fragment from the east frieze of the Parthenon Marbles, depicting the Panatheanic festival, also known as the 'Ergastines Panel'. This panel shows six young women bringing the instruments used in worship to two men in charge of the ceremony.
