My story ‘The Red Sea’ in the latest issue of @WesterlyMag. I was driving home one day in Aug 2022, when I heard a headline about a truck of tomatoes that had overturned (ripe for a poem!) Quite suddenly, the character of Murphy (my real alter ego??) was alive inside my mind.
I’ve been delighted for weeks (and days and hours!) about this news! Thank you to ABR and the judges, and congrats to the other shortlisted writers! ❤️😁❤️
‘First Snow’ explores early motherhood in the midst of a less-than-ideal relationship.

I am truly thrilled to have this poem appear with @TheAtlantic. It's about my mom's garden, the first pandemic summer, a sad and scary time on a number of different levels.
My great thanks to editor @fhill_official✨

@EmilieCollyer @islandmagtas Absolutely fantastic news, Emilie! I know your poem will be stellar—can't wait to read it and the others! Well-deserved recognition for you, Yasmin, and Helen. ❤️❤️
I’m over-the-moon to have a poem on this shortlist, and in such lovely company! Congratulations to the other shortlisted poets (including a few beloved friends). I look forward to reading your poems in the March issue of @islandmagtas. ❤️❤️
My poem 'Fragments,' which was shortlisted for the 2023 Newcastle Poetry Prize, and which features in the prize anthology published by @hunter_writers. The anthology is a gift to read—especially for Kevin Smith's winning poem, The Crossing. ❤️❤️
