@Thehullboy1 What an appalling post. Ignore - you have many people wishing you well who consider you to be a true inspiration. You didn’t just talk about it - you’re doing it and that takes massive guts.
Hypoactive delirium—characterized by withdrawal, lethargy, and decreased responsiveness—is missed up to 75% of the time. Why? Because these patients don't "cause trouble."
They lie quietly, often dismissed as "just tired" or "a bit down."
These are the patients we're failing most. Let's change that.

@lucyhalpin1@alisonleary1 She would be able to be a PS but probably required to attend a short update session to be listed as a PA. Check with her local uni that places the students to be sure.

@alisonleary1 Value experience. You can now be considered a ‘specialist nurse’ with little or no experience in that particular field and then we wonder why such roles are being down graded.
In September 2024, the #PilgrimsHospices therapy team will conquer their fears + soar through the skies in a daring tandem skydive. They're raising vital funds for our charity, enabling us to keep providing compassionate end-of-life care. Read more: https://t.co/WM0h2iIBmr 🪂 💙
@StN_Freda The other issue IMO is there are also experienced nurses changing specialties/ areas of work / wanting to down grade as close to retirement etc so NQNs are up against those who come with all the experiences and skills already acquired. It’s tough for a NQN going against that.
@Existential_Doc And I’d echo the above sentiment as a nurse working in the specialty. It’s dynamic, rewarding and intellectually stimulating. So much to learn and such a difference can be made to people’s symptoms.
@AlbionCatA@NurseStandard I think most nurses can decide if a patient can have simple OTC remedies without requiring a doctor’s prescription. I know there will always be exceptions but I’m thinking simple things that nurses use regularly that we can assess for.
