Italia lo está haciendo muy bien. Italia tiene F-35A y F-35B, y en su Marina han conseguido hacer una transición muy buena desde el Harrier al F-35B, sin pérdidas de capacidades. De hecho, lo han hecho tan bien, que si un día quieren dar el salto a un portaaviones mucho más capaz, tipo CATOBAR, también pueden hacer una transición adecuada sin agobios, incluso compartiendo aeronaves un tiempo, o cediendo los F-35B a la Fuerza Aérea Italiana, que también opera ese modelo.
