"Some people remember their first kiss. I remember the first time I went to jail."
In a deeply personal interview, retired Constitutional Court Justice Albie Sachs speaks to Annika Larsen about a life shaped by apartheid, sacrifice, and survival. From solitary confinement to a car bombing that cost him his arm, Sachs reflects on how he turned personal trauma into purpose - helping draft South Africa's Constitution and serving on its highest court. Now 91, he remains an optimist, and his story is as much about the country's unfinished journey as it is about his own.

I am truly excited to be welcoming home our exceptional young champions and receiving the African Spelling Bee trophy, following Team South Africa’s outstanding first-place achievement on the continent. The team will soon be travelling to China for the global championship.
Today is not only about celebrating a trophy, but about recognising the power of education, the commitment of teachers and parents, and the bright future that lies ahead for these learners.
This victory speaks directly to the importance of building strong foundations in reading. Literacy is the gateway to learning, confidence, and future success and initiatives like the African Spelling Bee play a critical role in nurturing a culture of reading, language mastery, and academic excellence from an early age. 🇿🇦

This from @Geoffrey_Cox was titanic - a truly beautiful speech.
He outshone those sat opposite. They could only watch. And nervously laugh.
This should be seen by every new MP to understand what they do, & every new barrister to understand what we do.
"Our national savings and investment rate is far below the levels needed to truly create generational wealth and support local investment in the economy. To encourage South Africans to save more, we propose that: The tax-free annual investment limit be increased from R36,000 to R46,000 per year. The limit to retirement fund deductions be raised from R350,000 to R430,000, allowing individuals to invest more each year on a tax-free basis." - Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana
