A reminder.
Next time you get mad about benefit claimants or refugees, remember that 7,000 shell companies registered to only five addresses in London made claims to the Covid furlough scheme. They claimed up to £473 million between them.

If Matt Hancock would rather go on I'm A Celebrity than serve his constituents while being paid lots of money to be an MP, he should face an immediate by-election.
Retweet if you agree.
So tax increases can help lower inflation risk. But which ones should be considered? Key options: (1) evening out how financial investing is taxed (currently at low rates) compared to working, (2) taxing windfall energy profits (3) reversing the NICs cut or similar. (4/10)
NEW: It would be wrong for @RishiSunak to make spending cuts. In a cost of living crisis, the government should continue to support households & businesses and bolster public services. Our new report shows that we can do more, while balancing risks to the economy. (1/10)
Matt Hancock isn’t a ‘celebrity’, he’s the former health secretary who oversaw the UK having one of the highest death tolls in the world from Covid-19 whilst breaking his own lockdown rules.

The BBC pointing a microphone at Nigel Farage after the firebombing of an immigration centre is just about one of the worst things I have seen in journalism in recent years. This man has been stoking that behaviour and the behaviour that led to the murder of Jo Cox for years.
BBC News at 4pm interviewed an 'expert' from Migration Watch during an item about the Home Secretary and immigration, without the slightest attempt to explain that MW was a right-wing pressure group. BBC getting worse and worse.
@benhabib6@SuellaBraverman Of course a Brexiteer thinks it was a great performance
It was full of red meat and racist rhetoric as she denied and lied - perfect performance
I asked Conservative MP Jonathan Gullis: if the #asylum system is “broken”, as @SuellaBraverman claims, did his party - in power for 12 years - break it or fail to fix it? He blamed @UKLabour and membership of the EU…
Braverman cannot have said what she said in parliament today and hold her ministerial post. It was absolutely disgusting. It brought deep shame on our government and us. She must resign or be removed.
Suella Braverman does NOT represent me, my family, my friends, my colleagues ( past or present ) or any caring, compassionate British person. Braverman does NOT even represent decent people in the Tory party like Sir Roger Gale. #SuellaBravermanOut#BravermanMustGo
in 2016, only 47 British MPs & Lords held an Irish passport
- by 2021, that figure went up to 227
- in 2022, there are now 321 of them with an Irish passport
Our ruling class seems to have remained in Europe. People next?
Disgusted to hear Suella Braverman say there's an "invasion on our southern coast", just a day after a migrant detention centre was fire-bombed.
Language like this – portraying migrants as "invaders" – whips-up hate & spreads division.
She's totally unfit to be Home Secretary.
Shocked…
That the Cabinet Secretary who led the investigation into the illegal Xmas party
…who had to step down after it emerged it happened in his office
…is the same man who covered for Truss
…& the same man who decided Braverman’s breaches didn’t need investigating.
A week ago Johnson was still in the Tory leadership race. This weekend we know he cooperated with the Cabinet Secretary to suppress a massive security leak from Liz Truss’s phone so she could be elected PM. She, of course, knew too. Tory corruption is rampant. They have to go.
Britain has 177 billionaires with an obscene wealth of £710 billion (up £57bn in a year).
Billionaires do not work harder than carers, nurses, teachers, doctors, construction workers, factory workers, shop assistants or other workers.
Tax the billionaires. They can afford it.
