A graduate of both New Orleans and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminaries, U.S. Navy Chaplain Robert Christian was recently promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral (Lower Half). 👏

There hasn’t been an active-duty U.S. Navy Southern Baptist chaplain to earn this rank since 1970! 

Pray for Chaplain Christian as he serves in a dual role as U.S. Navy Deputy Chief of Chaplains and Chaplain of the U.S. Marine Corps. 🙏

How can I steward all that God has given me to see the gospel continue to advance?

This question shouldn’t just drive thriving churches — it should be central to the conversations happening in churches facing decline and possible closure, too.

We’re grateful for this church, who showed us what it looks like to seek first the kingdom. God’s gospel will outlast any single congregation — and what a gift that we get to join Him in passing the baton to the next generation.

Today was a special morning at Calvary Englewood as we prayed over and sent out our core team to launch our newest church plant, Calvary Veritas. It’s always hard to send people you love, but this is what we pray for….to be a church that equips and sends people out for the sake of the gospel. There’s sadness in the sending, but even greater joy in seeing the Kingdom advance. May Jesus be made increasingly non-ignorable in Denver and to the ends of the earth.

Tropical Storm Lala is still moving across Hawaii. Homes swept away in the Kau District. More than 130,000 without power. Shelters open across Hawaii Island.

Pray for families who lost homes, for the crews still searching, and for churches already checking on their neighbors.

⭐️ They served with local @sendnetwork church plants.
⭐️ They boldly shared their faith and engaged the city with the gospel.
⭐️ Many discovered where God might be calling them post-grad. 

Because Southern Baptists give, students are being sent and discovering what God might do with the rest of their lives. 👏
