We remember, 15 years on. 🇬🇧
Today the Armed Forces community gathered at the National Memorial Arboretum to commemorate 15 years since the end of operations in Iraq.
The Princess Royal has joined St John Ambulance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their National Cadet of the Year competition.
🎖️ As St John Ambulance’s Youth Commandant-in-Chief, HRH met award winners from across four decades of the competition - from this year’s National Cadet of the Year, Emily England, to Simon Stockhill, who was the very first National Cadet of the Year in 1987.
🚑 Since the award was established, many former cadets have progressed to careers in healthcare, medicine and the emergency services.
Happy #StDavidsDay from the Falkland Islands! 🏴
The Falklands are very proud of our historic links with Wales and of course, we remain hugely grateful to all the Welsh servicemen who helped to liberate our Islands in 1982. 🇫🇰

'This is an outrageous betrayal of the British people by this government!'
'It's just a naming and branding exercise!'
Sarah Pochin and Kevin Craig clash over the Government removing 'HM' from its name.
'Changing our government from His Majesty's to the UK lessens the safeguards and reduces the basis of our constitutional setup.'
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg outlines why he is against the Government dropping its reference to the monarchy within its name.
We remember Stan Ford, who has died aged 100.
The @RoyalNavy Veteran served on HMS Fratton, which accompanied ships taking men & supplies across the Channel on D-Day & beyond. HMS Fratton was sunk and 31 of Stan's comrades lost their lives.
This is Stan's extraordinary story.❤️
You may notice that EFL matches this weekend will kick off one minute later than usual.
It's all to raise awareness of how important early CPR is when it comes to an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest; every minute counts. ❤️🩹

We’re proud to receive the Armed Forces Covenant - Bronze Award🏅
We were delighted to be presented with our Armed Forces Covenant Certificate which recognises our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise to ensure that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly and with respect. Achieving Bronze status shows that we actively support colleagues who are reservists, veterans, military spouses and partners, and that we’re committed to building a workplace where they can feel valued and supported.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in helping us achieve this accreditation, and to our Armed Forces colleagues who continue to contribute so much to our work.
Sir Winston Churchill died #onthisday in 1965.
The wartime prime minister is remembered with a statue just across from the Abbey in Parliament Square. Inside, he is honoured with this memorial stone, which was unveiled by HM Queen Elizabeth II in September 1965 - the 25th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
