📢Just a reminder on the below tweet for anyone who missed it. Also, I forgot to say you've got to also follow me and @SparxMaths as we will be sharing the files via twitter DMs over today/tomorrow so check you're following us both to be able to get the message 👍
@NoContextBrits I ran in the Southern Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill. I fell on a gravel section and bloodied my hands and knees.
When I finished I was directed to the St John’s ambulance tent and sat next to a man who had the exact same injury: Ronnie O’Sullivan!
What a man!
@MrsVRE The ECT will need to be supported if their SoL is to be good / used. Setting them up to do it on their own, unsupported (as is implied by it being over Summer) is setting them up to get stressed/ waste hours/ produce a SoL no one ever uses. Poor.
@MrsVRE Has your friend spoken to the HoD? That should be the 1st move. If set this week that is clearly not acceptable; can you confirm this wasn’t set ages ago? Also- with the best will in the world, I’d expect the SoL from the ECT to a) take ages b) not be v good
@taylorda01@DrewSherratt23@LaSalleEd@RJS2212@StudyMaths@maths180 p cannot be a multiple of 2 (so the 2,3 pair and 6,1 are eliminated). We know this because if p was a multiple of 2, the whole first bracket would be divisible by 2, and so the original quadratic would have been divisible by 2, which it was not.
@taylorda01@DrewSherratt23@LaSalleEd@RJS2212@StudyMaths@maths180 We have (2x+-p)(x+-q)
The p and a values are one of 1,6 or 2,3 or 3,2 or 6,1
Students quickly complain that there are 4 expansions to try. Not true. In this case they only need to try two of them.
@RAnForr784@blatherwick_sam Do this! We are looking for it to work in all cases, so start with the case you are most familiar with, ie regular. We have not been asked to prove that it works in all cases so do not need to make a mountain out of a molehill
@SteveO13199108@adamboxer1 I thought I would too. It’s the single biggest improvement from my last school to this one (I love them both btw). Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it!
@MrShepstone @bennewmark@TeacherBusy I would have thought: the data window should open asap and close approx 2 weeks after mocks, meaning some get 4 weeks and some get 2, but no one should have a 1day turnaround! The expectation is that everyone feeds back within 2 weeks of their exam being sat.
