@davidth96937192 @GBRugbySevens It is less about selection than preparation & having very inexperienced players. There is a miniscule budget & they can only meet up immediately prior to tournaments, while most opposition are full time. They give their all, but it is a very steep and unforgiving learning curve.

It MIGHT be that 3&4 were drawn into either A or B, then do it for 5&6, then for 7&8. But nobody will say. Normal World Rugby clarity & transparency!

At the ruck, yes it comes off the England foot, not hand - but it hits an England player who is on the ground, in front, so accidentally off side.

@timegift7 @sharrond62 Without SRU support their priority becomes working to live. They may still play, but need to fit that into their working lives. Training tired after work, relying on benevolent employers time off, not focussed on rugby,skills,fitness,recovery. The recent progression will stall.

@timegift7 @sharrond62 Most already have/had club contracts with clubs in the high quality English PWR League, but those are not full time.
Scotland support/contracts on top allowed them to be near full time without having to juggle other income streams, their time, training & recovering properly.
