@travisclones Sadly, I agree. Outside of the insane money Milan is going to get at UK, he'll likely boost his stock simply because of the name across his chest. I don't think anyone that says they would undoubtedly return to ISU if they were in Milan's shoes is being honest with themselves.
🚨 2027 four-star power forward Donovan Davis commits to Iowa State 🚨
Davis is the second-highest rated commit in program history and the No. 38 player in the Class of 2027.
The 6-foot-7 forward chooses the Cyclones over Iowa, Marquette, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Iowa State now has the No. 1 rated class by 247Sports.
@CyGradCyDad Sounds like JJ might not have been meeting expectations off the field. If he couldn’t handle that, then it’s probably best for both JJ and ISU that he moves on.
Milan is doing what’s best for him. NBA Draft is the goal. Transferring is the backup plan.
TJ is doing what’s best for the program. When time is of the essence to get portal players, waiting for Milan to make a decision doesn’t make much sense.
That’s today’s NIL/portal world.
NEWS: Killyan Touré will return to Iowa State for his sophomore season, François Nyam tells DraftExpress.
The 6'3, 19-year-old French guard started 37 games for the Cyclones, playing an important role in their 29-8 record and Sweet 16 appearance with his stifling defense.
Not shocked. He wasn’t going to start over Toure or Batemon and depending on who TJ brings in from the portal, it might have been hard for him to see impactful minutes on the floor.
Also, this is a photo of Batemon, not Williams. 🤦🏻♂️
NEW: Kansas State guard PJ Haggerty has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per @JamieShaw5.
Haggerty averaged 23.4 points per game this past season.

No surprise here. Didn’t step foot on the court much in B12 play. Probably wasn’t going to see much PT next season either. Hope he finds a good home where he can potentially start.
Something I just realized about the Final Four this year…they finally went back to having the arena PA person announce the starting lineups as opposed to someone from the broadcasting TV crew doing it. I always hate when they do that.
It’s gotta be so exhausting being a head coach in college athletics nowadays. They’re putting so much time and effort into recruiting good players that fit their program knowing full well that the ability to keep those players lies mostly with the strength of their NIL funding.
NEWS: Iowa State freshman Jamarion Batemon (@JamarionBatemon) plans to remain at Iowa State for the 2026-27 season, he told @LeagueRDY.
The 6-foot-3 guard out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin played in 37 games while averaging 6.6PPG and shooting 37% from 3-point range.
Multiple things can be true at once:
- ISU has a place on the national stage because of Bill
- He’s earned respect & admiration
- His style of play is outdated & doesn’t match up well against physical teams
- His inability to adapt to the current landscape is killing the program
Texas coach Vic Schaefer got emotional discussing Iowa State's Bill Fennelly and his large number of players lost to the transfer portal. https://t.co/x8mp1BLCzp
@wolf298d@BrewClone One of my biggest gripes about Bill’s teams is that players don’t get better under his watch. Maybe a couple do, but the rest of the team just remains stagnant. I don’t think it’s a personnel problem as much as it is a lack of creativeness on the part of the coaching staff.
