@AlexandersDad Hans wrote the themes for the first Pirates movie overnight (you can hear them in the track) but handed the project off to Klaus to flesh them out because he was contractually obligated to another movie. HZ also arranged the score. "He's a Pirate" is a Hans theme.
@cinsoundradio Glad to hear that! I did not ascribe that to you. It's been my observation that people who aren't really into Zimmer/Ludwig generally espouse that opinion on online forums and pseudo-intellectual reviews (the imbecilic Clemmensen for one). Hats off for having a wider gaze.
@cinsoundradio Both Hans & Ludwig are top notch. I'm not familiar with your podcast but I sure hope it doesn't follow the tired trope of "only melodic scores can be great" instead of appreciating the excess of brilliance were exposed to whether it be Goldsmith, Herrmann, Zimmer or Gรถransson.
@imPatrickT I liked it but I guess I expected more, maybe due to Spielberg-Williams nostalgia.
Or maybe Zimmer & Ludwig have raised the bar too high in the previews we've heard for their upcoming scores.
