What an inspiring morning at the National Center for Aviation Training as Boeing and @wsutech officially announced the new Boeing Workforce Training Center right here in Wichita — the Air Capital of the World. ✈️

Hearing Congressman Ron Estes, @Boeing SVP Ihsan, Dr. Sheree Utash (@DrShereeUtash), and frontline manager Jeff Taylor speak, one theme rang loud and clear: great workforces aren't accidents — they're built intentionally, together.

A few takeaways I'm still thinking about:

🔧 Training that mirrors reality. The new center will simulate actual Boeing production environments, not just teach theory. That's what "work-ready" really means as the 737 and 787 lines ramp up.

🪑 The three-legged stool. Dr. Utash's framing — education + industry + government — is the same model that built NCAT, and it's exactly what made today possible. When those three legs align, communities move faster and build stronger systems.

💡 Destiny-changing opportunity. Jeff Taylor's story hit home — a 19-year-old kid who walked into an aircraft factory and had his destiny changed. That's the power of the right pathway at the right moment.

As CIO of @WichitaUSD259, this is personal. The students in our schools — from our youngest learners to those high school students in our Future Ready Centers are the future engineers, machinists, technicians, and innovators who will walk through those doors. Our job is to make sure they arrive curious, capable, and ready.

Wichita doesn't just claim the title "Air Capital of the World." We earn it — one partnership, one student, one badge at a time.
