Congratulations to the 2026 All-Met softball selections!
Following The Washington Post’s decision in February to discontinue its high school sports coverage and the All-Met program, members of our DMV softball community came together to carry forward a tradition more than 40 years in the making. Recognizing the outstanding high school softball athletes in our region.
A huge thank you to the all of the high school coaches who submitted athletes for consideration, as well as the selection panel of sports media members and former and current softball coaches from Maryland and Virginia.
I would also like to honor the memory of the late Rob Hahne. When the Washington Post announced the end of All-Met, Rob galvanized the diamond sports community to ensure this tradition would not disappear. He was working to carry it forward when he passed away suddenly in May. It means a great deal to see that work continue and our area’s athletes receive the recognition they deserve.
Thank you to everyone who supported this project and helped make it possible.
Way to go Celia, Riley, Faith, Mya, Rachael, Norah, Catherine, Lauren, Abby, Sophia, Elaina, Peyton, Rylan, Melody, Jenna!
X gold Coach @SuzyWillemssen - celebrate even the smallest of victories. They are hard enough to come by so give yourself grace and appreciation as that will be your way to build and grow! 💛
Appreciate your progress today. You’ve been through a lot, but you’ve grown a lot too. Give yourself credit for your resilience, and how far you’ve come.
