Three memorable favorites: 1) WLUC radio in Symphony Hall at 1037 Loyola, 2) the old student union Wilson Hall, with a funkiness that led me to apply to Loyola in the first place and later the site of memorable events, 3) the truly fabulous view and quiet solitude in the unfinished 10th floor of the old Damen Hall. All are gone now.

Many years in a record store in London, I saw two vinyl albums from the BBC of people speaking the same text. One album was samples of English spoken around the world and the other were samples of local dialects throughout Britain. I remember that the text on the album suggested it could be used by actors perfecting the correct pronunciation for a character.
