The Competes Fund may be the clearest example of where Katie Hobbs and Democrats' priorities really are.

Republicans fought to rein in the fund and return taxpayer dollars to Arizona taxpayers.

Katie Hobbs fought to protect it.

Why?

Because the Competes Fund allows politicians to decide which businesses get taxpayer-funded handouts and which businesses get left behind.

While Arizona families were waiting for tax relief, Hobbs was fighting to preserve millions in discretionary funding for government-picked winners.

Not tax relief for the middle class.

Not lower costs for working families.

Not relief for taxpayers.

Instead, Democrats fought to keep a fund that hands out taxpayer money to favored interests behind closed doors.

The disagreement was never about economic growth.

It was about who controls the checkbook.

Republicans wanted taxpayers to keep more of their own money.

Katie Hobbs wanted politicians to keep deciding who gets it.
