I heard a parent complain because a teacher was at the store during the day. When are they supposed to go since most stores close early now? and as I have said before this is not traditional school moved online! Teachers are humans trying to take care of families too!

I estimated a custodian to clean 30000 sqft in 8 hrs, so our 76000 sqft building would take about 2.5 custodians to clean at about $0.76/sqft. #EDLD657

I think the IAQ is an important, often overlooked factor in schools. Nothing found on walk through, but when doing our new addition, we always were mindful of any fumes that were created. This fall we had to have indoor recess because of all the smoke, 1st time for that.#EDLD657

I never really put much thought into the light and sound in rooms, but I found this very interesting. Our lights were either within the recommended lux or very close. Our new classrooms all have dimmer switches and automatically adjust to outside light. #EDLD657

@AndyMaheras I am definitely going to go around occupied rooms next year to take sound readings. Maybe we could even project one in the lunchroom so the kids can monitor their own voice levels 😃 #EDLD657

School security is such a tough thing to deal with. How do you balance being safe & secure with being warm & welcoming? I don't want our school to look like a prison, but want everyone to be safe. You can't plan for every scenario, but try to be prepared for worst case #EDLD657
