@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem So with your previous logic (masks don’t work on their own- so we don’t trust them) - vegetables are actually not that good for you.. and same with exercise. So why even eat healthy and go to the gym?
@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem If you still don’t understand- to love an overall healthy lifestyle, doctors recommend adequate sleep, diet, and exercise. Independently- these factors won’t make someone healthy.. but that doesn’t mean that they don’t work when used together.
@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem I also never said that the seatbelt comparison was stupid- you said that a seatbelt can be used independently to protect people- which was false. Masks and seatbelts both need several other things to keep people safe. *see previous responses*
@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem But if this hypothetical toxic chemical release has a mode of transmission like COVID, yes I would trust my mask. Healthcare workers have been using masks to protect themselves and others from viruses transmitted this way for years (I.e. flu, RSV, etc.)
@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem First of all- I used TB as a reference to a bacteria whose mode of transmission is airborne- which requires a respirator for protection... so if this hypothetical toxic chemical release has a mode of transmission like TB- I wouldnt trust my cloth mask because its not appropriate
@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem (4)/4) To use an instance that is not applicable to what is going on currently (single mask vs virus) has no place in this context. Remember- teamwork makes the dream work.
@iswhatitis_ben@cassidy_rose95 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem (3/4) The best of things do not work alone- mask, social distancing, and hand washing prevent transmission. Seatbelts do not work alone to keep the driver safe- they have the help of airbags, save driving practices, and laws that also protect drivers for serious injury.
1 in 1000 South Dakotan’s have died from COVID.. that👏🏼 statistic 👏🏼 is 👏🏼 too 👏🏼 damn 👏🏼 high👏🏼 How about we listen to disease prevention specialists over @govkristinoem
I just saw @govkristinoem ‘s PSA on wearing a seatbelt to save lives this holiday.
No mention of how seatbelts take away personal freedom.
No mention how masks also save lives yet she won’t wear one.
It’s almost as it she punked herself by highlighting her own hypocrisy.
@TUNE19171 @KllehrSd @govkristinoem I mean 1 in 1000 people from SD have died from COVID because people are. It being safe. Are we trying for 1 in 500? #MaskUp
@diggingdeeperus @KllehrSd @govkristinoem ... there is a comparison. They BOTH save lives. They BOTH protect wearers from injury/illness. Just because you choose to call it a face panty doesn’t mean it’s not a valid method to protect yourself or others.
@iswhatitis_ben @KllehrSd @govkristinoem You trust a seatbelt because the leaders in car safety tell you so- but when the TOP experts in the field of Disease Control and Prevention (*ahem* the CDC) tell you how to prevent a virus you don’t believe them? It’s not being a republican. It’s you choosing what to believe.
