What do players do after a MC?
-Sometimes I check if I’m committed to next week to see if I want to play even if I weren’t planning on it prior to the week haha. There’s some last minute commitments every week.
-Most of the decisions are made based on next week. Am I playing next week? If not, it’s the first flight out home that I can get. Players want to get home asap especially after a MC.
-If I am playing next week, do I like this city better than the next? What about the practice facilities? How easy is it to travel to next week? More than not, I’ll prob stay at the current site, practice a little bit and then head over Sunday to next week.
-During those practice sessions, what am I working on? It depends on how I felt the week went. Is it WAY off or just a couple swings here and there? If it’s way off, that’s when the mind is going rampant, why isn’t this working, do I need to do more or less of what I’m working on, lots of convos with coaches. If it’s not way off, prob more focused on some of the key shots for next week.
-After my MC at Players, I took Saturday off, worked out Sunday and then drove over to Tampa after getting a rental car. On Monday, I switched out my rental car to my courtesy car for the week, practiced a tiny bit and I’m back to my normal routine.
This is the amazing @SWSectionPGA. They, and the people before them have put on the WM Monday Q for 77 years.
I’m mad for them, I’m mad for the players who won’t have opportunities at a great event any more.
Thank you to the section for having me out. And hope that a policy board in the future brings it back.
This has to be one of the strangest decisions of @pgatour when it comes to being in the entertainment business. If it was up to me I’d be focusing more on Monday qualifiers. There’s a movie script story nearly every week. I’d give the leading qualifier a tv draw and get a tv crew to follow him for the week. I would do this even more so in the signature events. We could have a “tin cup” story any given week. Could you imagine a struggling pro finishing in the top 10 and winning half a million. Nobody would begrudge that payout.
It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning. My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible. She was loved by so many, but especially by her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie. Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. Love you Mom.
Later this morning @dylan_wu59 will tee it up at the Farmers. But his trusted caddie, and brother, Jeremy won't be on the bag
Last fall Jeremy was diagnosed w cancer. My story on their complicated relationship and how the pair can't wait for a reunion

This is pro golf you don’t see on TV.
John VanDerLaan had a four shot lead coming into the final round of the @BahamasKFTour and had the lead at the turn.
But struggled on the back nine and finished T9. His wife Hannah was on the bag for him.
I talked w them about the ups and downs of the life of a pro golfer.
It’s been a tough 2024. My brother, Jeremy, who’s caddied for me since 2021 was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Sept. He’s doing well and getting healthy day by day. Life sometimes punches you in the gut. I’m hoping I can have him by my side sometime in 2025! 🙏
Want to be a pro golfer? First stage of Q-school edition.
At first stage in Alabama Mike Miller:
made 17 birdies
just 5 bogeys, no doubles
Every round was under par
shot 71-67-68-68
Finished 14-under
And failed to get through first stage.
Dear @PGATOUR
As you look to cut the Monday Qs just a reminder.
Co-leader JT Poston got status on KFT through a Monday Q
Norman Xiong, who is one back, resurrected his career, with a win at a KFT event after getting thru a Monday
And 3 of the 4 Mon Qs made the cut this week
