@vt_fishwild students Brandon, Maggie, and Gill present their research projects at the annual meeting of the Virginia Herpetological Society. Great job!!!!
The Wildlife Field Biology class went to Pandapas Pond for Friday's lab. During the field experience, students identified animals using their field guides and with the help of Collegiate Assistant Professor Kevin Hamed. Students were excited to find multiple species while there!
@vt_fishwild field biology students had a great start to the semester. We found a stinkpot at the duck pond! The common musk turtle is not often observed on campus.
Four CNRE undergrad students were able to conduct research due to a grant from @OurVt. Working with @vt_fishwild and @sustainbiomtrls, students tackled how to decrease the deaths of the shrew by gathering evidence on packaging materials. To continue click: https://t.co/xmUNtxUl47
I had an incredible day with @GARD2022 participants studying salamanders in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. @vt_fishwild graduate student @Holguinc_ was able to capture great images of these amazing amphibians. Thank you Matt Gray and Deb Miller for a great conference!
We found what appears to be a melanistic four-toed salamander yesterday. Their bellies should be white with black spots. We were sampling in a new area that seems to be isolated from our main population. Anyone ever see a similar 4-toed?
We are in year 15 of a long-term study on Four-toed Salamanders. Using spot patterns, @vt_fishwild students identify salamanders from previous years. These salamanders show extreme site fidelity, nesting in the same clumps of moss each year. Thank you @TVAnews for your support!
And what to we have here!? Is that @VT_TWS getting second place at the SE Wildlife Conclave? Well, yes it is! Congrats team! @vt_fishwild@wildlifesociety

So, @Ford is now the latest company to market a new SUV by driving it through a river? Does the company really know the people who love the outdoors? https://t.co/gbFOVoETl0 #FordBronco#StayOutOfTheWater#MarketingGenius
