Here I am in conversation with Creation Records legend Alan McGee on Boogaloo Radio in London on September 2nd 2019, featuring 10 of my songs, I come in at just after 27 minutes. https://t.co/KQibkWaTgY
@nme1980s@kevmcmanus7@Leon_Morris This review is a perceptive summation of me then, I like to think it’s the few good points in there that survive in my more recent work, thank you Kevin Mc.

There’s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!). Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role. Timmy’s a brilliant actor so I’m sure he’s going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me. The film’s taken from Elijah Wald’s Dylan Goes Electric – a book that came out in 2015. It’s a fantastic retelling of events from the early ‘60s that led up to the fiasco at Newport. After you’ve seen the movie read the book.
@FreedUnit I saw it was you but too late, I was too self absorbed after 4 hours waiting for op on my right eye that they decided not to do for the 4th time (they were unhappy about my blood pressure)
@elisabethdw@BBCDoctors You and the regular ‘Doctors’ cast deserve lots of offers of interesting roles - but I will so miss you all in that wonderful show!
@BBCDoctors To be replaced by ‘Escape From Escape To The Country’ no doubt. I feel genuinely upset to be losing this wonderfully quirky and deeply original show populated by characters one grew to genuinely care about. All the best to the wonderful cast and crew and BBC - think again!!!
After over two decades, Doctors won’t be taking any more appointments! To our incredible fans, thank you for joining us through thousands of stories, twists, and heartfelt moments. Your loyalty and love have made every step of this journey worthwhile. Thank you for watching!
@JonSavage1966 Not when I was around, I felt like I was the odd 60s 70s relic out at Factory with my love of Dylan Van Crosby Young Joni Hendrix Harper etc. I was hearing lots of it when I was about 10/11 from my uncle and it stayed with me..
@jackbrucemusic ‘Folk Song’ is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard.
‘She’s Moving On’ is another huge favourite of mine, an incredibly underrated gem..
@MarcWilliams22@mattfoy81 Last time at Nottingham I was baffled by people going to the bar and getting beers - plenty of time for that before and after the show! I’ll be there again, seeing Bob is everything!
@WraggStephan@nme1980s@SherylGarratt@DuruttiColumn@ViniReilly@Dojo007 I still love it and still perform it the odd time - not every show I do but sometimes… I think I’ve written lots of songs as good or better since but the New Order connection gives it its infamy. I just wish it had been produced/mixed/mastered better - and more rehearsed!!!
@nme1980s@SherylGarratt@DuruttiColumn@ViniReilly@Dojo007 Oops I meant 30 years later! I first met Paul face to face in 2008 and he was lovely, he even interviewed me at length for his Tony Wilson book in 2014, coming especially for a day here in Leicester to do that, so we well got over this ‘difficult’ review by then!
@nme1980s@SherylGarratt@DuruttiColumn@ViniReilly@Dojo007 Obviously for me that’s still a very painful read though I’m consoled by the fact that 20 years later Paul wrote the highly generous sleeve-notes for my ‘All Was Numbered’ album. I pretty much denounce my ‘Quartet’ side too! It did me a lot of damage at the time.
