Well, the past year flew by - today is my 61st Birthday and I’ve spent most of the year reflecting and looking backwards. One of the strange and emotional things about getting older is realising that my mother only ever knew me up to the age of 22. She never met the 30-year-old me, the 40, the 50, the 60, or me now.
I’ve felt my mother threaded through so much of what I’ve been doing this year with the Little Miss Twain album... Sometimes I have to stop and think about how completely unbelievable all of this would have sounded to that little girl and to my mother! My dream at the time was to be able to busk in the streets of Toronto, I didn’t imagine something bigger, that seemed such a leap from where I was. Moving forward and now looking ahead I plan to be kind to myself and others. It’s what the world needs now. I want to enjoy these moments for exactly what they are and do as many new things as I can. There are still so many things I dream of I would need another 500 years to get them all done. I want to face the things that scare me and enjoy the things that please me.
So cheers everyone to appreciating the path behind you and the one infront of you equally. Please take a moment to listen to my album Little Miss Twain - it would mean the world to me, it’s my heart and soul and story all in one ❤️ Here’s to another year of fun, laughter and dressing up!
Dolly was pure light sent from heaven. My mentor is gone. My songwriting teacher and hero of grace and humility. There is a hole in my heart but the joy of just the thought of her smile will continue to fill me with inspiration for as long as I live. I will cherish this moment performing Coat Of Many Colors with Dolly forever. Goodbye Dolly. Rest in peace, beautiful angel.
That time Anthony Bourdain got a traditional hand-tapped tattoo in Malaysia. The technique uses two sticks and a needle to manually tap ink into the skin, creating a tattoo without the use of a modern tattoo machine.
Bourdain commented on the experience: “If you were wondering, by the way, if this hurts, two guys hammering away at my sternum with a bamboo club and sharp needles, yes. Yes, it hurt a lot. And you can be damn sure that if I wasn't on television while it was happening, I'd be whimpering and yelping like a gut-shot poodle.”
Bourdain would go on to elaborate that the whole process took two hours, in part because the artists were “really drunk.”

And Don, Doug Ford is a right-wing populist Tory once nicknamed the Trump of the North. That's the degree of alienation.
