@ATT I pay my bills, but when I have friends over to watch the NBA Finals, I have to deal with no service due to an expired contract. Why is the disruption allowed to take place. It was an epic game with the biggest comeback in NBA history and I can't watch. What am I paying for?
Selected by Vancouver in the 11th round in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft, it was not until 7/1/89 when the Canucks were able to sign Igor Larionov. Igor later played in San Jose & on 10/24/95, Igor was traded to Detroit & helped Scotty Bowman bring the Stanley Cup back to Detroit.

On June 30, 1993, a great trade took place for the Red Wings. Kris Draper was acquired from the Jets for future considerations, which ended up being $1.00. For that dollar, the Wings received a 4-time Stanley Cup champion who played 1,157 games & won the 2004 Selke Trophy.
It was on May 28, 1981 when Jean Ratelle announced his retirement from the NHL after 21 seasons with New York and Boston. At retirement, Jean was 6th all-time in career points with 491 goals and 1267 points in 1267 games played and became a member of the Hall of Fame in 1985.

On June 11, 1969 in the annual Intra-League Draft, the Blackhawks made a great choice & paid the Canadiens $25,000 & claimed Tony Esposito, a rookie goalie. The next year, Tony won 38 games, a career high, had an NHL record 15 shutouts, won the Calder Trophy & the Vezina Trophy.
On June 11, 1974, the NHL announced that Denis Potvin of the New York Islanders was the winner of the 1974 Calder Memorial Trophy. Denis was selected first overall in the 1973 NHL Amateur Draft by the New York Islanders from the Ottawa 67βs in the OHA.
On June 10, 1971, the completion of the trade for the first overall pick from the California Golden Seals took place as Sam Pollock and the Montreal Canadiens selected Guy Lafleur as their No. 1 pick in the 1971 Amateur Draft.

It was on June 8, 1976 when the Hockey Hall of Fame announced their next class of members. It included builders William Wirtz, Jack Gibson, and Philip Ross. The players for that year were Bill Quackenbush of the Red Wings & Bruins and one of the greatest goalies, Johnny Bower.

On June 6, 1967, the NHL held the expansion draft for the 6 new teams that entered the NHL. The Bruins protected Gerry Cheevers and later Eddie Johnston, but left unprotected was goalie Bernie Parent. The Flyers selected Bernie, one of the greatest choices in that draft. #Flyers
At the NHL meeting on 6/2/48, it was announced that the Art Ross Trophy would be awarded to the scoring leader at the end of each season. Elmer Lach of the Canadiens scored 2 goals in the final game of the season & became the 1st winner of the Art Ross with 30 goals & 61 points.
On June 2, 1982, Mike and Marian Ilitch purchased the Detroit Red Wings from long-time owner Bruce A. Norris. The Norris family had done a lot for Red Wing hockey, but a change was needed. Attendance was down and the team had fallen to 6th place for the 1981-82 season.
