@peterjukes @DavidRobjant @patricksturg Your understanding of what constitutes plagiarism is plain wrong. It includes the use of unattributed direct quotations or substantial paraphrasing from other sources. Any unattributed quotation is an act of plagiarism, even if the source is cited elsewhere

Copying sections of text from another work, without citation or with minimal changes is plagiarism, which is incorporating the work or ideas of another author in one's own work without acknowledgement. It matters not where in a thesis the text appears.
