@RiniSampath Thank you for running, for putting yourself out there, and for your message. Please stay engaged. We’re headed into a difficult period led by people who are in over their heads.
@PranavNanda28@EJGoulet@neeratanden@ScottGoldstein@SmithSteiner@kenyanmcduffie As an ardent supporter of home rule, I don’t want Congress to overturn any DC law. But in your own words, that’s unfortunately “part of the damn legislative process.”
This had nothing to do with policy. It was political malpractice by council members wanting to spite the mayor.
@PranavNanda28@EJGoulet@neeratanden@ScottGoldstein@SmithSteiner@kenyanmcduffie No, what happened is a bunch of city council members with the political judgment of a potted plant refused to enact Mayor Bowser’s modest proposed amendments that would have saved RVCA. Instead they overrode her veto to show her who’s boss and caused lasting harm to the District.
@robbysoave@MattWalshBlog@eduneret All people, but especially childless adults, should be extremely tolerant of children and sympathetic to parents, even when kids act up. Parenting is hard. No kid is well-mannered 100% of the time.
Remember: Those kids are going to be paying your social security in a few years.
@cbctom When I was a kid in Montréal in the 70s, my dad would take me to one game a year. He’d wear a suit and tie, and so would I. It was a special occasion. Of course you dressed for it,
@Canyonaro@boriquagato The Warren court that decided Barenblatt and Terry v Ohio, and upheld Korematsu, “dragged the US farther to the left than any politician could”? Good luck with that logic. Or are you upset that he wrote the unanimous opinion finding segregation unconstitutional?
