⚾️ 12-seed Washington Township springs the upset! ⚾️

Luke McKenty homered and finished with three RBIs as the Minutemen knocked off fifth-seeded Egg Harbor Twp. 13-9 in the first round of the SJ Group 4 playoffs. Josh Lynch also had a three RBI day, while Brandon Fcasni and Andrew Robinson had a pair of RBIs in the victory.

MAAC Champions.

Not sure how life works sometimes.

Back in January, I said yes to something I probably wasn’t supposed to say yes to. Between my businesses, my family, and everything else going on, it wasn’t the ideal time to take on another commitment.

But for some reason, I did.

Looking back now, the reason wasn’t the job. The reason was the people.

Somewhere along the way, this became about the relationships. The players. The coaches. The conversations on buses, at practice, in the dugout, and after tough losses. Watching young men chase a dream and having the opportunity to play a small role in helping them get there.

I wasn’t brought here to be the star of the story. I was meant to be a bridge. To support them. To challenge them. To believe in them. To help them keep moving forward when things got hard.

This group earned every bit of this championship.

They fought through adversity. They stayed together. They trusted each other. And now they’re headed to the NCAA Regional.

When I accepted this position in January, I had one goal: help this team get to a Regional.

Four months later, here we are.

Life has a funny way of putting you exactly where you’re supposed to be, even when it doesn’t make sense at the time.

The championship is special.

But being part of their journey is what I’ll remember most.

On to the NCAA Tournament.
