The Zlock brothers, Dan and Dale, have been involved in motorcycle road racing for 50 years. Zlock Racing is located in Spanaway, Washington, and @KevinPinkstaff and his brother Brian are the team's long-time and current riders. Check out the story:

@KK352 It makes me appreciate the elective classes I teach, where it’s project-based and there are no tests—other than the performance of the project. Funny how that changes students’ self-perception of their ability, and how much they enjoy it!
@KK352 That’s a good take. I wonder how my students perceive science? I’d guess they’d see it as learning to take a test—which it is, in the college-credit classes. But I don’t think they have much of a broad sense of science; I suspect they see it in terms of the labs we do.
@KK352 Might be some good content for the STEM club to check out. Lost a bit of momentum with that last year—we’ll see if we can get some more kids onboard this year
@KK352 Yep! That’s one of the (many) reasons my engine builder is so careful about thoroughly warming up the engine before using it.
Seems like head gasket failures much more common than cracking a head, right?
One of my favorite part to covering events is getting to meet the people involved. I was able to meet @KevinPinkstaff at #motoamerica this yearHere's my take on his graphic, and his inspiration off the track.

More than two dozen snarling @Medallia Superbikes all going into a turn, then scratching and clawing for traction on their way out, is quite a sight to see. It's a carefully choreographed combination of horsepower versus tire grip. #motorcycle#racing
@KK352@audasgrant@ClaytonClent@TcameronTodd@arapalla@ketaminh @MsahWu @StewartB1966 @JJcolemanMD Did a spinning wheel demonstration the other day, but the wheel was missing an axle. “Mr. Pinkstaff, you can use one of my wheels!” said a student from his wheelchair. He moved to a chair, removed his wheel, and let everyone take a turn spinning it while holding the axle. Legend!
