@TeeplesCY No, you know why there was blowback. At times you have difficulties separating your opinions from Church policies. Now you want to be the martyr claiming persecution solely for espousing church doctrine. Have an opinion that's great, don't pretend to speak for the Church.

@Steve_Sailer Your right. One US practice: even on national teams they'll pick the best players regardless of age. In Europe they'll select a couple of younger players even though they're not as good at the time but have a chance to be real contributors not just reserves in the future.

@LDS_Dems Not Christian nationalism, but if we are not positively a Christian nation he's correct. As T.S. Eliot wrote, a vague belief in democracy will fail as it will be used as a tool by the forces that hate it. In our times, if you won't have the Christian God, you'll have Allah.

Obviously Trump has a past and I don't know where he stood with God at that time. But if both were members at the time, only one could have been a Bishop and it wasn't McMullen

@Steve_Sailer @markallanbovair Sad because it's contributing to less youths playing sports. Killing local rec/little leagues. Also stops many good athletes from starting a sport in HS. Coaches are often walk-on travel ball coaches and protect their guys at the expense of developing new talent.

@Steve_Sailer @farhip Soccer is un-American in that at the world elite level it requires a type of genius that is usually not nurtured in our democratic culture. Think Pete Maravich. His type usually beaten down by coaches/orgs for being a "prima Donna non-team player" Rare for that to excel here.

@orsonscottcard Part of this is Western philosophy is rooted in non- contradiction which is necessary for modern science. Eastern philosophy doesn't have that distinction and is not compatible with modern science.

@jkimballcook That's a tortured reading of the lyrics which paint the conflict as a millennial holy war led by the Lord against the Confederacy. This political philosophy would lead to later conflicts for the Church as dissents from the national crusade could not be tolerated.
