@mikegarson TIME - though Bowie was young (and I was even younger) this melodramatic song made a huge impact upon me, if only I had understood the import of it then as I do now... Your piano playing is key to the drama and atmosphere of this track as with the rest of the album @mikegarson
@lee0969@jillwebb2005@nikidoog@Carolyn_on_X@FatOldAnarchist@brunstead Messages - From the opening catchy melodic synth, the supporting moody bass synth sounds and lyrics romantic & melancholy this is proof that Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys were pioneers of early electronic pop as well as setting the tone for the coming New Romantic subculture.
@HeatherMoulson Dobby should be fine. White cats have less fur on their ears so it is a worry for them, I would put factor fifty on my Lily's ears before letting her out in the sun. She got used to the routine over time.
@blitzed80smag1 The B-side to the re-release of Japan's 'Quiet Life' in 1981, an instrumental titled 'A Foreign Place' which being a non-album track I hadn't heard before. Japan have a few instrumentals, all enthralling, hypnotic even. This wears its oriental influences obviously on its sleeve.
@RegaResearch Quiet Life by Japan - a landmark in their short career as a band that epitomises the (then to follow) New Romantic movement, predating it by at least a couple of years. I had not heard such a dark atmospheric and beautiful production before. a masterpiece.
