-"You got guys like Tom Brady,  Peyton Manning.  I don't think they were running around in Pop Warner. They weren't in high school. They've had to learn to play since they started playing in the pocket looking down field. And so when they get to the NFL, that's what they've been doing their whole life."

-"It's great to be a great athlete of course, but the problem is...if you've been doing that your whole life, you haven't had many reps of staying in and eventually they'll force you to, and it's hard to develop that in NFL."

-"If you want to be successful in NFL, you're gonna have to be able to do both. And it takes reps to do that. And you're not gonna always get that in college if, especially you have that athletic ability. So it's something you, you gotta be working on, on your own."

Dom Daste, a former University of Washington offensive lineman who then coached at Montana under Bobby Hauck from 2003 until 2009, is returning to UM to coach running backs on Bobby Kennedy's first staff.

Daste (left) also worked for Hauck at UNLV and has been the head coach at Eastside Catholic in Seattle the last seven seasons.
