@Ajsoti He got a 3 year deal. He did what was best for his retirement. It’s no different than civil service workers in NY raking in OT throughout their final 3 years. It’s all to pad retirement. NY Islanders couldn’t afford 3 years with an aging vet. Smart move to walk on 3 yrs.
@ProducerDrew_ For every million dollars, you should generate 10 points a season. A 5M player usually puts up 50 points on average. So 180 point season is expected.
@NHLFlyers@DarrenDreger Why wouldn’t Anaheim match it? They will. That’s why they didn’t resign Trouba. They knew this was coming. They got the cap dollars.
@RTaub_ Perfect example of how not every prospect hits, which is why they should have sold at least year’s deadline and acquired more draft picks. Those were all 1st round picks by the way.
@LifeIsles4 Ticket sales are a direct reflection of a winning hockey club. I’m all for the youth, but you have a blue chip defenseman ready to go and there’s no guarantee these prospects are the difference makers. Do you believe they’re better today since their last game of the season?
Not impressed with the direction since the trade deadline so far. You can hand out all the 1 or 2 year deals you want. Why should the #isles have to remain mediocre hoping these prospects are even NHL ready in 2 years? How does this sell tickets and make you a contender?
@IslesRumor@frank_seravalli I’m still unsure how paying Schenn and Palat is more useful with cap dollars than just paying Lee and having money in the bank leftover. But Darche knew that when he made those trades. This was the likely outcome.
