Dans un message de sa direction adressé aux fans, Bungie reconnaît ses erreurs et promet d'amorcer un vrai virage pour retrouver la confiance des joueurs.

Le chantier est lancé pour Destiny 2 : l'équipe va progressivement réintégrer les campagnes, destinations et raids qui avaient été placés au coffre. En parallèle, Bungie compte faire évoluer Marathon vers une expérience de survie plus poussée afin d'élargir son public, car le nombre de joueurs est actuellement très bas.
