Is your business ready for EU CBAM compliance?
The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is no longer on the horizon — it's here. And for importers of steel, cement, aluminium, fertilisers, hydrogen, and electricity into the EU, getting your embedded carbon calculations right is not optional.
Missed deadlines. Incorrect declarations. Regulatory penalties.
These are real risks — and they're avoidable.
That's why we built 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗮
1. Automated embedded carbon calculations
2. EU-ready CBAM declaration reports
3. Real-time EU ETS carbon price tracking
4. Supplier data integration & audit trail
5. Multi-importer dashboard — all in one place
No spreadsheets. No guesswork. No compliance gaps.

Speaking at the 4th International Conference on Sustainable Circularity (ICSC), Mr Shridhar Rajappanavar, Founder & CEO, Key Sustainability, said, “Instead of the traditional ‘take–make–dispose’ model, the automotive industry must move towards a closed-loop ecosystem. Circularity begins at the design stage, where material selection, recyclability and recovery are built in from the start. Manufacturing must support this shift by reducing production footprints and enabling reuse. Extending vehicle life, advancing battery circularity and treating end-of-life vehicles as inputs for new production are critical priorities. Circularity is not just an engineering challenge; it is a business transformation that requires collaboration across the ecosystem. OEMs, as system integrators, must lead this transition and drive collective action towards a resilient, resource-efficient and truly circular automotive future.”

The 1st International Conference on Automotive Material Compliance & Sustainability (AMCS) brought together policymakers, OEMs, component manufacturers, global experts and solution providers to deliberate on strengthening material compliance across the automotive value chain. The conference was graced by senior industry leaders and regulatory authorities, setting the tone for collaborative action and forward-looking dialogue.
Key discussions highlighted that material compliance is central to product design, supply chain transparency and global market access. With evolving regulations such as REACH, PFAS restrictions and emerging ELV frameworks, OEMs and suppliers must ensure accurate, tier-wise material declaration and digital traceability through systems like IMDS.
India’s strengthened EPR and ELV regulatory framework, supported by CPCB’s digital portal, marks a decisive step towards structured compliance and circularity. Sessions also highlighted that decarbonization of the supply chain, integration of Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), and increased use of recycled and secondary materials are critical to future-proofing the industry. The key takeaways included that achieving sustainability and regulatory readiness requires collective responsibility, from Tier-1 to Tier-N suppliers, supported by capacity building, data accuracy and digital integration.

Important Update on PFAS from the EPA.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a significant update regarding Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). On October 9, 2024, the EPA announced its fifth Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) test order for PFAS, marking a crucial step in regulating these persistent chemicals.
Key EPA Actions to Address PFAS:
EPA has restored scientific integrity and accelerated the pace of research and actions needed to tackle the PFAS crisis and protect human health. Few bold steps have been taken into action.
1. Final Ambient Water Quality Criteria and Benchmarks for Certain PFAS
2. Final CERCLA Hazardous Substances Designations for PFOA and PFOS
3. First-Ever National Drinking Water Standard for PFAS
4. Methods for Measuring PFAS in the Environment

CBAM - A transformative shift for carbon and trade
It aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (emissions after accounting for removals) by 2050, while ensuring that economic growth is decoupled from resource use.
In the initial phase from October 2023 to December 2025, the EU CBAM will only require companies to report the emissions linked to imported goods. This transitional period aims to ensure a smooth implementation, collect data, and maintain ongoing discussions with trading partners. Beginning in January 2026, importers will need to pay a fee on covered goods according to the reporting methods established by the EU through its regulations.
