Sundays are my reset day.
I try to read for hours, clean, talk to no one and even stay off of social media...but at times I hop on YouTube to listen to the linguistic stylings of my colleagues and I as we talk shop at the Board of Elections meetings. And of course, review notes.
UPDATE: I got maintenance to check out my unit and they shared that everything is working correctly and that as a single person in a one bedroom apartment, paying $162 this month for @MyBGE , it's actually on the low end 🙃
I know prices have gone up, but this is nuts.
While I am so grateful and fortunate for the ability to rent my apartment, it is nuts that I am trying to keep my BGE bill below $120 by setting my thermostat to 64°F. Shoot me those space heater recs! My hoodie is not covering it, lol.

An ICE officer fatally shot a woman in her car as she tried to drive away during a Minneapolis protest.
An eyewitness said the officer shot her “like three, four times” in the face. DHS claims the shots were “defensive.”
I am influenced: 2026 will be all about the empties. No new purchases (except deodorant, because duh). Yo girl is on a debt and downsizing journey and that means being real with my spending habits.
Looking forward to sharing my empties in 12 months!

Fasting from Social Media for 40 days. Probably won't miss much...
I will check the DMs once a week on Saturdays to work/community related items.
Thank you for your respect at this time! 🙏🏾

Happy Black History Month! Today, I'm looking back on my speech I delivered for the Black History Moment on the MD House Floor, honoring John Butler-a Baltimorean that helped establish free Black schools in Maryland. #BlackHistoryMonth#Maryland#EducationForAll#separatebutequal
Today we honor Baltimore’s native son, Congressman Elijah Cummings, on what would have been his 74th birthday. He was a relentless advocate for justice, and his legacy continues to inspire us all. (Photo credit: New York Times)

As I have said numerous times in the last week, the people losing their homes and being displaced aren’t just rich people and celebrities. There a lot of working and middle class people who have lost everything.

Merry Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah to all!
