Y2 linked learning about the Great Fire of London to Forest School. They learnt what fire needs to burn & discussed how to keep safe. They took turns using flint and steel and built a campfire, then the children toasted & ate marshmallows before using the cooled charcoal.
Bourne Westfield Primary Academy are seeking a Stakeholder Governor.
Whether you have a connection to the school, experience in the education sector, or simply would like to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.

Year 3 have been studying ancient Egyptian canopic jars in their art and history work this term. After learning about their purpose, the children drew and planned their designs then used mod roc to create their 3D sculptures. The children have achieved some fantastic results!
Year 6 have been developing a gymnastics sequence based upon the concept of mirroring & matching, incorporating a series of stretches, movements and balances with a focus around symmetry. This week, the children investigated how they could use equipment in their sequence.
In Forest School, Year 4 had their first experience of a fire this term and toasted yummy marshmallows! They used bread, lard and seeds to make bird feeders and cardboard tubes to create 'hotel rooms', ensuring they were well camouflaged and a suitable habitat for the bugs.
As the term draws to a close, we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
