Anyone have any connections to @Nickelback? 🥹 I have tickets for an upcoming concert and it’s my life goal to meet them (it’s been in my Twitter bio since its inception lolz). Help a girl out!
Being from a marginalized community that many people don’t even know exists is a daily challenge. You become numb to the stares, comments, unconscious (and conscious) bias, and constantly seeing villains portrayed by facial differences in movies. Why is it this way?
Exactly 8 years ago, I graduated from @sait. My two years at SAIT were two of the best of my life and set me on the path for the rest of my post-secondary journey. I would not be where I am today without daring to begin my journey at SAIT. Let nothing hold you back. #graduate
Learning the hard way that you can’t force people to stay in your life. It doesn’t matter how hard you try, how much effort you put in, or how much they mean to you. Not mad, just disappointed.
Hey @melissablake! 💜 I’d still love to collab on a blog post with you, if you’re still up for it! I think we could be a force to be reckoned with (not that we already aren’t!) #blog
Face Equality Week continues. Having lived every day of my 32 years with a facial difference, this week and the message of this video is so clearly needed. Maybe some day facial differences will be normalized enough, but today is not that day. Would love a RT #FaceEqualityWeek
As someone with a facial difference, I’m so proud of the work that we’re doing and so proud to be part of this video. It’s officially Face Equality Week! I would love some retweets of this super important message Follow @aboutface for more this week! #FaceEqualityWeek
It’s Face Equality Week and we are pleased to share a new video focused on the theme of the week – stigma. This is what a stigma-free world could look like to some in the facial difference community. Please RT and share to help get this message out. #FaceEqualityWeek#StigmaFree
Face Equality Week starts on Monday. Why is this an important week? Because people with facial differences deserve the same human rights protections and opportunities as anyone else. We deserve to be an equal part of society and we deserve to be seen. #FaceEqualityWeek
Getting stared at by kids wherever I go is getting old. Some days I can pretend it doesn’t happen, but some days I just want to get coffee with friends without feeling out of place and anxious. Face Equality Week is next week. Teach your kids about differences.
My good pal @PLoker and I just recorded another episode of our podcast! Just ahead of Face Equality Week, I hope you’ll check it out to get some perspective about living with a facial difference 💜 #facialdifference#DisabilityTwitter https://t.co/ymbVLR0EqQ
