Central Asia is a region of growing strategic importance for Belgium and for Europe. That is why we are opening an embassy in Tashkent this year to deepen our bilateral relations and follow developments in this crucial region more closely.

We reaffirmed our shared commitment to multilateralism, the UN Charter and international law in a challenging geopolitical context.

Discussions focused on strengthening the EU–Central Asia Strategic Partnership, connectivity through the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, energy, climate and critical raw materials.
