Great to share ethical and human rights based work with both the CRWA and SLRA , collective and true partnership to provide analysis and challenge, expose the appalling direction of social work policy, services and related legal changes emanating from the Govt .
@SLRAcharity Good morning SLRA and @KgoodSW the @CareReviewWatch discussed on Tuesday our support/solidarity for this and a privilege to share this alongside the RMCC Consortiums Response to Case for Change on our webpage and invite ALL our followers to read and support ALL your efforts.
Add your organstion's viwes and read what so many in the sector tells the govt that care must really care and not be a way to make the rich richer and further damage all children in our care and care leaving services regardless of immigration status.
Thanks to the hard work of @IanGould5 and the rest of our alliance we have collated around 50 Case for Change responses plus some Calls for Ideas. Email or message us to add https://t.co/nwAY86gdK6 the very least have a look at the many common themes. https://t.co/RutgEMLWTS
There’s a @BASW_UK chair election going on - last voting date noon 23rd April. Will we have a new Chair prepared to challenge Government, Childrens Commissioners, CSWs , DCSs, DASSs, Council leads as often seems required today? Term of 4 years of likely increasing austerity.
BASW memebers vote for the new UK Chair, use it or lose it. Ill be joining others and voting for the dynamic practicising social worker who promotes and stands up for the rights of all service users and social workers including those subject to immigration control and NRPF.
Here's a link to the Chair's Hustings event which was held yesterday: https://t.co/AWrYDTVTjU
I hope BASW members are aware of and take an interest in the election.
I'll be supporting Diana Harris - a dynamic Chair of Cov & Warwickshire branch
Please send all responses to the CRWA and read the true and real situations. See the priority direction that funding and policy must to go in for all children in care and as care leavers. We must meet our legal & moral duty & obligations for all children & young people.

#SWWBResourceSharingMondays a resource today on the National Referral Mechanism (NRM). This is guidance for working with people who have experienced Trafficking and/or Modern Slavery from the @NRPFNetwork https://t.co/GRvwZ3qIjU
On a day when people close to power are trying to excuse the governments unjustifiable lawbreaking, lets not forget that MacAlister's interim #carereview report also went to great lengths to excuse the unjustifiable failures of this government around childrens services #partygate
We're deeply saddened that the Commons voted down numerous amendments to the Borders Bill - incl. amnd 22 in support of age assessment best practice.
We want to thank @NadiaWhittomeMP for speaking about Alex Tekle and the risks unaccompanied children face if the bill becomes law
The same as my mother who came as a child refugee. The passing last night of the N&B Bill is devasting for us all especiallly us second generation
My father, the child refugee, helped to change Britain. That’s why we need more compassion | Matthew Reisz https://t.co/g3CspTsi2C
Its not surprising but it is devastating to see the outcomes of the votes on the N&B Bill, soon to be Act. Where has the moral compass of humanity and compassion gone with such a hostile law. I hope there will be a loud condemnation from the social work world
Unsurprisingly the Lords amendment on age assessment (amendment 22) was voted down in the commons last night, along with all other positive changes. As social workers we will need to mobilise to do whatever we can to ensure we are not complicit in the harm this bill will do.

Fine words in our tragic world. We must step up and truly welcome those fleeing and end the nasty hostile laws and attitudes they face. Lets hope MPs find thier moral compass today.
Juliet Stevenson backs campaign to get MPs to vote the right way on the #BordersBill tomorrow, as part of #TogetherWithRefugees day of action today. Please share & tag your MP.
Nationality and Borders Bill back in Parliament today fingers, toes, arms, legs and brain all crossed in hope that social workers will be supported by amendment 64A and not be legally forced to treat children and young people against thier best interst and ethical practice.
Tomorrow 22/03 MPs will vote on Nationality and Borders Bill.
👉Write to your MP now. Ask them to vote FOR the Lords' Amendments (list in picture).
There is still time to change this bill and make it
-- humane
-- sensitive to the needs of vulnerable people
-- & lawful...
