SAPS INTENSIFIES INVESTIGATIONS AS FOUR WOMENS BODIES DISCOVERED IN TWO MONTHS IN THE KEMPTON PARK AREA
Kempton Park, 12 September 2026; The South African Police Service (SAPS) is warning women in and around Kempton Park, particularly the Rhodesfield area, to exercise extreme caution following the discovery of the bodies of four women in the same area over a period of approximately two months.
The latest body was discovered on Saturday evening.
Preliminary information gathered by detectives indicates concerning similarities in the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The bodies of the women were found half naked and with visible bruising, and the discovery sites are located within the same vicinity.
While investigations are still underway and SAPS has not, at this stage, confirmed that the deaths are linked to a serial killer, the similarities are sufficiently concerning for the police to issue a public warning and intensify investigations.
Women in and around Kempton Park are urged not to walk or run alone, particularly in isolated areas. They should avoid secluded spaces, remain vigilant and, where possible, travel or exercise in groups.
The safety of women remains a priority for SAPS, and the police will not wait for further incidents before taking decisive action.
The Acting National Commissioner of the SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, has directed the Gauteng Provincial Commissioner to immediately establish a dedicated multidisciplinary task team to investigate these cases and determine whether there are links between the incidents.
The task team will comprise detectives from specialised units, including the Murder and Robbery Unit and the Investigative Psychology Unit, as well as other relevant disciplines and resources required to urgently advance the investigation.
The task team will be led by the Gauteng Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Major General Mbuso Khumalo, who has been tasked with ensuring that all investigative avenues are pursued and that no stone is left unturned in establishing who is responsible for these deaths.
SAPS is appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation, particularly residents, motorists, security personnel and members of the community who may have observed suspicious activity in the Rhodesfield and surrounding areas, to come forward.
SAPS is taking these incidents extremely seriously. We urge women to remain vigilant, while assuring the community that specialised police resources have been mobilised to establish the circumstances surrounding these deaths and bring those responsible to justice.
Members of the public with information can contact Warrant Officer Elvis Manyike on 082 465 7249 or provide information anonymously through the MySAPS APP.

LABOUR LAW ATTORNEY SHOT DEAD OUTSIDE CCMA OFFICES IN JOHANNESBURG IDENTIFIED
The labour law attorney who was shot and killed outside the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration offices in Johannesburg has been identified as Chinette Gallichan.
The 35 year old attorney from Krugersdorp was shot dead on Monday morning outside the CCMA offices at the corner of Fox and Joubert streets in the Johannesburg CBD.
According to witnesses, the incident occurred at approximately 09h00 while Gallichan was arriving for a scheduled matter at the CCMA.
At the time of her death, she was working in the labour litigation department of Sibanye Stillwater.
Eyewitnesses allege that Gallichan was representing a mining company in a dispute involving workers who had allegedly been retrenched and were seeking compensation.
It is reported that a male suspect approached her as she exited her vehicle and shot her at close range. The suspect fled the scene on foot before escaping in a waiting getaway vehicle.
Initial reports suggest the killing may have been targeted, as none of her belongings were taken.
Gallichan obtained her LLB degree from the University of South Africa and later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law with distinction from the University of Johannesburg.
She was also active in the athletics community. She and her husband Keegan were members of the Run Zone Athletics Club in Northcliff and regularly participated in road running events, including the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.
In 2023, she completed the marathon in a time of 4 hours 18 minutes and 57 seconds.
Her death has sent shockwaves through both the legal and athletics communities, where she was described as a dedicated professional and a familiar presence at the CCMA.
Police have opened a murder case and investigations are ongoing.
Day 71/71 ✅️
From the moment she entered the house, Didi stood out. Confident, beautiful, and unapologetically herself. She showed what it meant to be a strong individual who learns, adapts, and keeps going.
Three wins. One woman. 3x LottoStar Arena Games Winner, the first female to ever do it and the housemate with the most money won in tasks. She didn’t just play, she dominated.
Her diary sessions gave personality and entertained us effortlessly. Pool parties and Saturday nights just hit different when she steps in. We called her Miss Party and Bad Girl Didi for a reason. She ALWAYS came through!
Beyond the competition and the entertainment, Didi’s friendships became one of the most meaningful parts of her journey in the Big Brother House. To friends that left in the early weeks, her Clique and not forgetting her Mean Girls.
To her Sisters, Liema and Trixie, you meant so much to her in different ways. @liemapantsi you two mirror each other in ways that make your friendship amazing. Your bond was unforgettable @lindy_trixie, your sisterly care has been her strength in many ways, thank you for always watching out for her.
Daisies, thank you for your endless love. You stood by her when it mattered and backed her when it counted. Forever grateful!🌼💛
Unstoppable. Unforgettable. Unmatched.

Sesethu Enhle Mboza, 19, took her own life on 29 October 2025 after being brutally raped by a fellow student from Nelson Mandela University.
After allegedly being raped in October, Sesethu opened a case with the police. The perpetrator was arrested but later released on bail. Despite this, Nelson Mandela University failed to take adequate action, allowing her alleged attacker to remain on campus.
Sesethu suffered from severe trauma and panic attacks after repeatedly seeing her perpetrator on campus, the very place where she should have felt safe.
Women For Change is deeply shocked and outraged that a student charged with rape was allowed to return to campus, the very environment where his victim should have felt protected and supported. This is not only a failure of compassion but a complete disregard for the safety and mental well-being of survivors.
Where are the Gender-Based Violence policies that universities are required to have in place to protect their students? Survivors should never have to relive their trauma by crossing paths with their perpetrators.
We call on Nelson Mandela University and all higher education institutions to take full accountability and urgently strengthen their GBV response mechanisms. No survivor should ever be left feeling unsafe, unheard, or unsupported within a place of learning.
Sesethu’s life mattered. She deserves justice. @MandelaUni@CWGS_MandelaUni
