ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ವರದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ವೈದ್ಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಡಾ.ಮಹೇಂದ್ರ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಹೆಮ್ಮಾಡಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿ, ಆರೋಪಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಠಿಣ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಜರಗಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸಂಘದ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯರಾದ ಶಿವಾನಂದ ತಗಡೂರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕ್ರಮ ಜರುಗಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟ���ೆ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

KUWJ Condemns Assault on Kundapur Journalist, Demands Strict Action

The Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) strongly condemns the assault on Sreekanth Hemmadi, the Kundapur correspondent of Kannada Prabha and a member of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association.

The assault reportedly took place in connection with a news report on the Kundapur Government Hospital. It is alleged that Dr. Mahendra Shetty, the Medical Officer of the hospital, suddenly attacked journalist Sreekanth Hemmadi.

KUWJ State President Shivanand Tagadur has urged the Udupi District Police to treat the incident with utmost seriousness and initiate strict legal action against the accused. He warned that if prompt action is not taken against those responsible, the union will be compelled to launch protests.
